Rising above the rest: A butter that’s better and baking powder win big at 2024 New Zealand Food Awards
An alternative butter spread made of pure avocado oil has been crowned as Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University’s Supreme Award winner at the 2024 New Zealand Food Awards.
Vutter Avo Spreadable by Feliz Wholefoods took out the highest honour of the night, while the other big award, the Product Lifetime Achievement Award, went to iconic Kiwi classic Edmonds Baking Powder.

We’re backing KiwiHarvest again at the gala dinner!
After last year’s massive success of the marketplace at the gala dinner, we’re pleased to announce we’re backing KiwiHarvest, our 2022 Food Hero Award winner again as our nominated charity partner.
With the generosity of our guests, we were able to help KiwiHarvest to rescue over 1,700kg of unwanted food and deliver 4,890 meal equivalents into the community and this year we’re excited to see what we can do!
KiwiHarvest reduces the negative impacts of food waste on our environment by redistributing excess food; helping to create lasting positive social change by nourishing those in need.

2024 NZ Food Awards Finalists Announced
It’s an exciting time in the culinary calendar - when the finalists of the New Zealand Food Awards are announced and celebrated.
After a robust and thorough judging process, four distinct themes were highlighted across this year’s finalists: functional ingredients, foods to meet specific consumer needs, foods for convenience and foods from different cultures. There were more than 300 entries from 91 companies this year, resulting in 64 outstanding finalists the motu.
